REGISTRATION

Be invigorated as never before!!!! Take a chilling plunge into the Monongahela River to benefit Special Olympics West Virginia. This is the sixth year West Virginia will take the Polar Plunge.  Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Come join in the fun-individually or as a team of friends, family and co-workers.! Everyone who takes part in the plunge will earn a free t-shirt as well as other gifts based on the amount of your donation.  Prizes are for the individual and team that that raises the most money and the individual and team with the most creative custume.

You will be plunging for a purpose and freezin' for a reason, as all proceeds will go to Special Olympics West Virginia which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition to thousands of West Virginia children and adults with developmental disabilities.

To Participate:

  1. Solicit contributions from friends, family, businesses, employer, etc.  Be sure to raise a minimum of $50 for the privilege to Plunge!
  2. Complete your pledge form (online registration or printable form).  Feel free to register early by sending your form with the money raised to Special Olympics West Virginia, 1206 Virginia Street East, Suite 100, Charleston, WV 25301.
  3. If you don't have to time pre-register, arrive at Star City Park before 1:00 pm to register and turn in contributions (registration begins at 12:00 noon on the day of the plunge).
  4. If the plunger is younger than 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian sign a release form.  The release form needs to be turned in with the contribution form.
  5. Attire: Plungers may wear anything they want with the exception of wet or dry suits. Costumes are OK!!!  Shoes are required!!!
  6. Be ready to plunge on February 13th!!!
